4th of July in D.C.

We took advantage of Ryan's day off  for the fourth and took a road trip to Virginia to visit family. My aunt and my brother's family live there (...and my new little nephew!

We left Friday at about 5pm and got to the Livingston's at about 2:30am. After sleeping in Saturday, we headed out with Megan and Emily to Alexandria to see Dave, Miranda, Milo, and little Eliot and my mom who was visiting for the new baby. We sat there forever but had so much fun hanging out.

This Milo was a shy little guy when we met in SLC, but at home he's anything but...

We talked and talked and then ate popsicles and then talked some more while we watched Milo drive around in circles, and in the afternoon we took my mom to the airport.

After dinner we watched Never say Never, with Megan and Emily, which I loved.

on the fourth we ate a delicious breakfast. Then Missy and Megan were kind enough to teach me some of their letterpress skills. I/we made some cards that I'm pretty excited about on their HUGE letterpress.

Then we met up with our friend Jordan to eat lunch th Shake shack. Vanilla Concrete with Blueberry Pie? Delicious. After, we walked around DuPont Circle in D.C. with Missy as our tour guide. We were a festive bunch....check out Jordan's sweet shirt on the right...

Then made our way to our fireworks spot to lay out our blankets. We had fun hanging out with the family and Megan and I played catch phrase for probably two hours. Missy gave us all these sweet glow bracelets which was fun and festive.

And then the show started! It was like a dream to watch the fireworks with the Washington Monument as a backdrop. The perfect way to end our 4 month anniversary with a bang!
