Whenever we go somewhere new, we like to hit the ground eating. This was our first stop on Saturday, The Underground Bakery. I'm a lover of pastries and these were perfect.
The rest of the day we spent in Provincetown, the most busy city during the off-season. Commercial street goes on forever and ever with shops, galleries, and restaurants. We especially loved the hammock shop - if you walk all the way to the back of the store, they have three large hammocks with a beautiful view of the ocean.
In the evening, we went to dinner in the neighboring town at "Mac's Seafood". Thinking we were just going to a typical seafood shack, our jaws dropped when we saw the dining room...on the beach. Luckily, we arrived just as the sun was setting and the water was glistening from its reflection. The food was amazing too.
After church on Sunday, we drove to Chatham, MA. Main Street looked adorable, but we stayed near the beach and took pictures by the Chatham Light.
Monday morning we were excited to have good weather, but because I'm 'recovering' from a very minor knee injury, we took it easier than we usually would have, and decided to explore the marshes in Yarmouth.
It actually turned out to be really cool! There are boardwalks and trails that weave you in and out of thick forests, wide rivers, and shallow marshes. The landscape was so varied that nearly every turn surprised me. I couldn't believe that I hadn't been there before and I wished so badly that I had more than a camera phone to capture the beauty.
Afterwards, we finally started to head home. We were sad to say goodbye to the relaxed way of life on the cape and enter reality again. So we took it slow, and drove west on route 28 all.the.way.home. Oh how we love Cape Cod!
Thanks for reading!
