From this weekend

So friday night we went to Harry Potter. I looooved it. I wish I had someone here to chat about it with (Ryan's nice but I don't think he really cares) so good thing I have a blog right?

I haven't loved all of the harry potter movies. they sometimes get boring, the last one was too dark/evil... but seriously this one entertained me the entire time. so so great.

Funny because we bought tickets online extra early... convenience fee and all...assuming that - just like Utah - the theater would be packed with fans decked out in costumes, but not at all. we came ten minutes early, found a nice seat in the back. and the theater never got more than 1/4 full. I guess things are just different here in Dartmouth.

anyway, other than HP7p.2, we had a really great  weekend. There is SO much to do here (which is why we want visitors!!) on Saturday evening we headed to Providence, RI to see "Waterfire"

I got the following photos online because I forgot to bring my camera...aaaahh!

from http://www.artsjournal.com/realcleararts/2009/07/waterfire.html

It is a series of bonfires that line the surface of the three rivers of Providence. They call it a sculpture and it was created by an artist for a non-profit organization in order to bring life and unity to Providence. Well it certainly has done so - A LOT of people came out - but we were lucky to find a spot close to the front.

The volunteers came out on little gandolas to light each of the bonfires. Everyone was silent, there was instrumentital music playing over us, and it was really beautiful and artistic. After they light all of the bonfires everyone just starts walking up and down the sidewalks by the rivers. It was just a simple but very beautiful night. We spent a lot of time walking up and down the streets and seriously made for a perfect night.

Matisyahu. I only know one of his songs because it played in the kitchen all the time at Jacob Lake. Ryan really likes him. We're both pretty excited. I'll let you know how it goes.
