Kosher Reggae / Cupcake Courier

so Matisyahu was GREAT. Talk about one awesome, smiley Jew. My favorite part was the rapper who came out dancing in traditional dress and threw a prayer shawl into the audience (I had to look it up to figure out what a prayer shawl was) but seriously Matisyahu was on fire and he put on a great show.



anyway, to get to the point of this post...

Last night, after eating one of the few successful dinners I've made, I got started on baking cupcakes for Ryan's office party. So of course I had to bring out my Cupcake Courier.

My good friend Lesley gave me this as a wedding gift from costco - she knows I love to bake. But it is huge and those who have lived with me...especially Ryan...know that I don't hold on to things very long if I don't absolutely need them. But I liked this big, bulky, very specific cupcake transporter and for some reason it stuck with me through two moves.


I haven't really found a place for it yet in our new apartment (making it even more attractive to give away) but when I pulled it out  last night, Ryan could only say "whooaaah" Long story short, the cupcake courier was a winner.

After making a batch of cupcakes (the process turned out to take almost 2 hours because 1- I tripped the circuit, 2-  we had to find flashlights so we could go to the basement to reset the circuit, and 3- I had to redo my first batch because I put in way too much water while having too much fun talking to my sister..but no big deal) anyway, after the cupcakes were finally cooled we frosted them and placed them in the courier and oh my goodness they fit SO perfectly. We were both pretty excited to take a picture of Ryan this morning on his way to work with the cupcake courier in tow.

This has turned out to be a pretty great gift and will be perfect for toting around those hard to manage cupcakes without getting the frosting smashed. I guess I just have interesting memories of trying to carry my mom's gorgeous desserts in the backseat of her durango.

Anyway, maybe it's not kitchen must-have material, but the cupcake courier is certainly a fun thing to have around the house - and it makes life just a little bit easier.
