Portuguese Festival

Did you know that the south coast has a huge Portuguese population? A couple of weeks ago we went to the 97th annual Portuguese Festival or as they call it "the feast of the blessed sacrament" in the North End of New Bedford.

We did what we always do at festivals. We walked...

...and walked (check out that huge BBQ pit?!)

We ate. (Linguica and... what was Ryan's sandwich called again?)

and then we ate some more. 

...and then we left. Pretty sure we would never come here with a child (turns out this festival holds the world record for most alcohol sold...good thing we came early!) But we had fun and we learned a little bit more about the culture of this place.
